PRODUCT CARE & MAINTENANCE

Poly Furniture lumber is made of a durable HDPE plastic resin material which has been purified and UV protected to protect from the harshest elements.

Poly lumber furniture is cared for a lot of different ways depending on where you are located. The most widely used method is soap and warm water with the soft bristle brush. For more stubborn areas and harder stains, use a 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water solution can be used on the product without affecting the color. Another popular method of cleaning poly lumber is using a high pressure power wash. (Do not exceed 1,500 psi, which is the equivalent pressure of a car wash.) The surface characteristics of the product may require the use of a soft bristle brush to get into the creases.

The hardware used in the assembly and construction of poly furniture differs from manufacture to manufacture. Although most of the hardware used has a high level of corrosive resistance, the hardware can show some sign of corrosion in coastline and salt air environments. A helpful solution when signs of corrosion are apparent would be to wash the product with soap and water using a smaller brush (toothbrush) to scrub the corroding areas of the hardware. Allow the clean area to dry and then apply a hardware sealant or hardware touch up paint in the appropriate color to protect the hardware from future corrosion.
