Over ninety percent of our plastic lumber is made from post-consumer bottle waste, such as milk and detergent bottles or other HDPE post industrial material.

No, the color in POLYWOOD® lumber runs all the way through.

How much do POLYWOOD® Chairs weigh?

Answer

The weight of a POLYWOOD® chair is similar to that of a hardwood chair averaging 30 to 50 Lbs. each. This means that even in strong winds you won't have to worry about these bad boys blowing away.

Does it contain wood or natural fibers?

Answer

POLYWOOD® is made from HDPE and does not contain wood or any natural fibers.

Is it UV protected?

Answer

POLYWOOD® lumber contains UV-inhibited pigment systems that reduces fading.

Can it be painted?

Answer

POLYWOOD® does not need to be painted, stained or sealed in any way due to the durable nature of the material.

Can it be sanded?

Answer

Although minor scratches can be addressed with a light sanding, POLYWOOD® cannot be completely resurfaced using sandpaper.

How do I clean POLYWOOD®?

Answer

For regular maintenance simply wash the product with soap and water. For advanced cleaning or to remove fungi, use a solution of 1/3 bleach and 2/3 water. Fungi can also be removed using any readily available anti fungal product.
